Race
1
2-Talbotcreek
Jewely – logical to think this Muscles Yankee filly was on the verge last week,
she got locked in & shook loose too late, can avenge that loss from a much
improved post
1-On The
Bright Side – knocked heads with the best out there like Check Me Out, Takter
trainee switches to Dave Palone, look for speed from the pole
5-Aunt
Mel – has come to hand for Erv Miller winning two straight in PA, while showing
versatility & her latest was a lifetime best 1:54
10-Oasis
Dream – one of the best with a filly trotter, Bob Stewart has this one on her
toes, recently winning a PA All-Stars event in 1:54
Race
2
4-Drop
The Ball – Last year’s Mistletoe Shalee winner set a Mohawk track record in her
Roses Are Red elimination & just missed to Anndrovette with a gutsy effort
in that final
5-Put On
A Show – 2010 Dan Patch Award winner & double millionaire has come back to
top form after missing all of 2011 with injury, sprinting with abandon from a
tough spot in the Roses Are Red
1-Anndrovette
– 2011 Dan Patch Award winner reeled off a world record 1:48.1 in the Roses Are
Red at a stunning 13-1, lands the pole where she can try to air it out again
3-Rebeka
Bayama – had no chance from outside posts in both of her Roses Are Red miles, a
winner in the WEG circuit Open can play a stalking role here
Race
3
7-Valdonna
– Takter trainee unleashed a big qualifier with trotting hobbles added, then
was caught in a fast mile at Pocono, toss out the break in her Oaks elimination
3-Weekend
Vacation – grinded gamely & finished a close third in a :29.4 crawl to the
wire, chance to build on that effort in a light field
8-Lady
Andi – returns to the mile track off a close second with trot at both ends
& picks up Brian Sears
5-Quarantine
S – bounced back from consecutive breaks with a very strong qualifier, makes
her a player here if she minds her manners
Race
4
2-Sarandon
Blue Chip – NJSS champion rebounded with a strong second to Rockaround Sue
& lands inside as a major threat
4-Rockaround
Sue – has caught fire for Tony Alagna, stepped off a rated pace & sprinted
off in :27.3, one to catch again
3-Air
Guitar Hanover – just 1 for 14 this season, but coming around in her last two,
offered plenty from post 10 last week
10-Pirouette
Hanover – stayed flat & offered some late pace from far back, there’s some
back class here & she can kick home, yet the pace has to be hot
Race
5
10-Shebestingin
– skipped the Prep to romp in the Geers Stakes at Tioga to go three-for-three,
has the relentless rally to handle post 10
2-Nikki
Beach – made it three-for-three with another two-hole trip, clearly has major
league talent, sprinting speed & upside
4-Cult
Status – kicked home sharply to get within a length of Nikki Beach, draws well
to build on that noteworthy effort
5-UF
Dragon’s Queen – just missed in both stakes tries in Pennsylvania, and had too
far to come in the prep, continues to improve
Race
6
5-Captaintreacherous
– bounced back from a loss with another convincing score & appears a step
or two ahead of the rest right now, Tony Alagna won this last year with Major
Bombay
9-Source
Of Pride – exploded home to win a Reynolds Stakes division & freshened up
with an easy qualifier for Takter, another talented Brittany Farms colt
7-Delaware
Hanover – making some big noise with a couple of strong finishes in his last
two PASS events
3-Emeritus
Maximus – has flashed some sneaky late pace in both starts, his latest from
post 8, moves inside for Tony Alagna
Race
7
3-Raring
To Go S – Swedish-bred filly shook loose with loads of late trot to nail the
elimination upset, stalks the favorite & looks to repeat
1-Find
the Magic – rallied to win her Reynolds Stakes division in :27.4 & won her
sires stakes split from a very tough spot, she can capitalize on a fast pace
4-To
Dream On – vaulted off a fast pace to equal Check Me Out’s track record of
1:54.2 & heavily favored to go four-for-four
8-Royal
Assets – was barely outsprinted by Raring To Go S after setting a sensible
pace, expect Schnittker to send her again & perhaps last a little longer
Race
8
2-Deweycolorintheline
– rallied off live cover to win the fastest elimination, his sire was an
undefeated 10-for-10 in his freshman season
1-Major
Athens – was a well-rated winner in his Big M debut for Sears off a couple of
sharp wins in Pennsylvania, Sears won this with Muscle Hill in 2008
3-Corky
– NJSS winner was a close second to Major Athens with trot at both ends, draws
well for Takter off that quality effort
4-Aperfectyankee
– Tompkins stakes winner at Tioga made a nice recovery from an early break, one
to fear if he behaves & gets a chance to progress further
Race
9
8-Likeabatoutahell
– uncorked a pretty decent rally from far back to hit the board last week,
draws a tougher post, yet look for Jim Morrill, Jr. to put him in play
2-Coco
Lindy – found his best stride with back-to-back lifetime marks at Mohawk, both
were absolute romps from outside posts
3-Zooming
– added Lasix recently, ventured to Pocono Downs & grinded out a lifetime
best for Team Orange Crush, looks to step up back on the mile track
1-Don’t
Know Chip – squandered a perfect second over trip in last week’s Invitational,
but capable of stalking this questionable crew & kicking home strong
Race
10
4-Chapter
Seven – unleashed unprecedented back-to-back world records to start his 4yo
season, then was gunned down late in a Canadian record Maple Leaf Trot
5-Mister
Herbie – Cutler winner stormed home off a hot pace to nail Chapter Seven in the
Maple Leaf Trot, versatile & sharp for the rematch
7-Daylon
Magician – 2011 O’Brien Award winner recently recaptured his winning form,
parked challenging Chapter Seven in the Maple Leaf Trot & makes his Big M
debut with Brian Sears
6-Anders
Bluestone – crushed them in the Invitational with a lifetime best of 1:52.1
last week, just the confidence boost he needs to face the top guns
Race
11
2-Check
Me Out – A super filly from the great first crop of 2007 Hambletonian champion
Donato Hanover. She’s red-hot coming in off six in a row, and was rated
number one against the colts until trainer Ray Schnittker made a decision on
July 20 to enter the Oaks. Her world record Del Miller Memorial was
stunning. She passes Passionate Glide as the richest trotting filly in
history with an Oaks victory, and lines up face-to-face with arch rival Maven.
Tim Tetrick looks for his third Oaks.
3-Maven
– The fastest offspring of 2006 Hambletonian winner Glidemaster has been on her
own roll, winning four of her last five, and dominated the fastest elimination
going two-for-two at the Big M. She was just a nose back of Check Me Out
in the Elegantimage. Pace winner Yannick Gingras is also battling Tim
Tetrick for the Big M driving title. Jonas Czernyson won the 2005 Oaks
with Jalopy
7-Win
Missy B – Finished a solid second to Maven after setting a stern pace and appeared
pretty headstrong last week. She was also the runner-up in Check Me Out’s
world record before that. The sister to millionaire Winning Mister for
Bob Key has amassed well over $900,000. Brian Sears won the 2009 Oaks by
a nose with Broadway Schooner.
5-Uncommon
Night – Last year’s Oaks upsetter George Brennan with Bold And Fresh, runner-up
to Maven & Check Me Out in her last two with improved efforts
Race
12
1-Uncle
Peter – Since he tried to come first up into a world record pace in the Beal,
the Breeders Crown champion has really settled into a winning groove at the Big
M. Ron Pierce assured us he’s got a lot more in tank and Jimmy Takter
said he’s the most gifted three-year-old he’s ever trained. A minor leg
delayed his start this season, perhaps a blessing in disguise. Takter
made a million dollars with another Cantab Hall, Pastor Stephen, who was fifth
from post 10 last year. This colt races in the memory of John and Jim
Fielding’s late brother, Peter.
2-Market
Share – Finally got some better racing luck and capitalized with the mile of
his life. Obviously, he’ll be forwardly placed from an inside post and a
similar sprint makes him a dangerous stalking threat. This $16,000
bargain gives Linda Toscano her second straight shot at Hambletonian
glory. The Bionic Man is looking to join Brian Sears and George Brennan
with a same-day Oaks-Hambletonian double
3-Knows
Nothing – This Ontario-based colt has come a long way in a short time. He
saved, angled and exploded home in :27.1 with Lasix off last week. Jody
Jamieson said he took off like a pacer. He keeps on improving, yet will
need the right pace and trip scenario again. Jeff Gillis noted he’s a
big, majestic horse, whose late kick his forte and the mile track suits him.
4-Archangel
– Yonkers Trot winner in a world record of 1:54.1 was stung a bit to get the
lead & yielded to the pocket-sitting Market Share in an excellent
acclimating mile, might get to ride a pocket or three-hole trip this time
Race
13
8-We
Will See – defending champion 1:47.2 crushed the Invitational two starts back,
then got parked into a :26.4 third quarter at Harrah’s Philadelphia
6-Rockincam
– Graduate elimination winner in 1:48.1, won the Dan Patch with a huge rally,
hinting of a form revival
1-Golden
Receiver – The Golden One dominated the early season winning the Presidential,
Spring Championship & Graduate, tuned up with a nice qualifier
4-Aracache
Hanover – set some dazzling fractions & just missed to We Will See in last
year’s edition, can grind a long way, yet could pick up some live cover here
Race
14
5-Hurrikane
Kingcole – fastest horse of the season coming into this day at 1:47.3, was
raging like a beast in his 1:48.3 elimination
6-Panther
Hanover – lightly-raced colt was airing it out at Mohawk & didn’t quit once
Hurrikane Kingcole started turning it on last week, a positive sign
1-Time
To Roll – North America Cup runner-up went all the way from post 7 over an off
track & will likely revert to a stalking roll
4-Rollnlikeabigshot
– rolled off a lively pace & finished well chasing Time To Roll first time
Lasix, can easily see him building on that first trip here
Race
15
8-Panesthetic
– left Oscar Oscar in his wake two starts back, then dominated the Tioga Downs
Open, one to beat on his form spree
2-Alexie
Mattosie – last year’s Presidential & Haughton winner took a tour of the
track from post 10, second try off the bench from a much better post
5-Oscar
Oscar – left for his usual trip up close to a fast pace & couldn’t sprint
with Meant To be Me, remains a strong factor in exotics
10-Malak
Uswaad N – New Zealand import has gone four-for-four on Lasix at Harrah’s
Philadelphia, tripped out to beat We Will See last time
