Saturday, July 10 featured Hambletonian and "Oaks"-eligibles in two high-profile events at Yonkers Raceway: the Yonkers Trot ($573,770) and the Hudson Filly Trot ($299,050). Also, a few colt hopefuls were involved in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final at Georgian Downs.

First, the main feature at Yonkers delivered the only colt able to win the Trotting Triple Crown –On The Tab. The Jimmy Takter-trained colt was one part of a three-horse entry –"Tab," Senor Glide and Hard Livin, at 1-9.

Tab went first over at the half-mile pole, challenging "Senor," who led the field past three-quarters. Then he trotted down Senor as Take My Picture came flying on the outside in late stretch. Tab held on for first, "Picture" was second. Third was Senor Glide.

This was Takter’s second-straight "Trot" win (and the first for driver David Miller). "I'm obviously very happy to win this race," Takter told Yonkers’ Frank Drucker. "It’s one we always point to because I understand the history of it. I used to have nothing but bad luck in it, but hopefully that’s turned around."

Prior to the boys’ adventure, the Hudson Filly Trot presented a field with two entries.

Ray Schnittker’s three-part entry (4-5) finished first, second and third, led by the winner, Spicy Wings.

"I knew a good bit about her before last week's elimination race" Cat Manzi said to Druckers. "She showed a lot then and tonight I knew if I could get carried to the lane, she'd be tough."

"Wings" was second up the rail, behind Costa Rica (8-5), through the first, half and three-quarters. Stable mate Munis Blue Chip had was hung early and after a strenuous start settled third on the inside; she finished second, coming back strong at the end. The other part of the entry was Religulous, who sat on the inside and just went past "Rica"; Religulous was third.

In the Ontario Sires Stakes, four Hambo-hopeful colts raced at Georgian. The hopeful that did the best was 4-5 favorite Text Me, finishing third. Then it was the 6-1 Arriba Amigo finishing seventh. In eighth was Poof K at 22-1. Finishing the hopefuls was Windsong Geant, who raced ninth at 17-1.
