On Wednesday, July 7, at Pocono Downs, Grand Circuit week presented many "Hambo"-eligibles. There were three divisions worth more than $26,000 each hosting two eligibles in the first and three in the other two.

In the first division there were supposed to be three hopefuls but R Sam scratched sick. The winner was Baximum, who went wire to wire for trainer Jonas Czernyson; the colt opened up by more than a 6 lengths on the field to win. The other hopeful was Texas Ridge. "Texas" broke and finished seventh. Two longshots finished second and third.

In the second division only Jetblue Volo finished in the money, getting up for third. He was the favorite and struggled wide to get to the top, probably costing him the score, as he faded late. Greek Myth and Photo King were off the board. The top two finishers were 6-1 and 61-1, respectively.

The third and final soph-colt trot was won by Hambo-hopefuls’ biggest foe, Red Light. The colt has been a fireball in state-bred action and on the Grand Circuit so far.

The best eligible here, Czernyson’s Can’t Lose, stayed flat and had trot left at the end, losing to the top pair by only ½ length. Plan B In HD, a Tom Haughton-trained-and-driven hopeful, finished fifth and Sailaway Dream broke, finishing eighth.
