On June 30, more soph-filly trotters were on display at The Meadows in another round of Pennsylvania Sires Stake (PASS) divisions.

There were three divisions with 14 fillies targeted for the Hambletonian Oaks. Hopefuls took all three divisions.

Merger Blue Chip took the first $87,000-plus PASS chapter zooming up the inside, winning for trainer Bjorn Noren. The trainer, who has a few Oaks-eligibles just coming around, told The Meadows’ Evan Pattak, "Even when she gets tired, she keeps on trying ... we’ll try for the Hambletonian Oaks."

The other eligibles, Fouroclocktea, Special Credit and Royal Clout finished off the board.

After disappointing many in last week’s Elegant Image due to a break, Bone A Fide
came from way out of it to win the second PASS split at 2-1.

"She was a different-gaited horse [at The Meadows]," driver Dave Palone told Pattak. "In
fact, I actually made up ground in the last turn."

Ron Burke trains. Eligible Christiana Hanover was third, Ruffles was fourth and Secret Magic finished eighth.

The third Oaks-hopeful to win was a stranger to the betting public. They let Ally-
Gal Ridge go off at 24-1. She tied the stakes record—set last year by Broadway Schooner—with a 1:54.3 mile.

This Burke trainee has been raced lightly so far. "She’s always had talent," Burke said, "but she may not be quite as strong as some of the other fillies." Oaks-eligible Cantab It All completed the exacta and Perfect Chance was the final element in the trifecta. Up Front Juansteen, Spicy Wings and Crown Laurel finished off the board.
