On June 16, "Hambo"-hopefuls (HH) trotted in six divisions of the New York Sires Stakes NYSS at Buffalo Raceway for purses of more than $26,000 each.

In the first division, one of seven was a HH but the winner was Deliver Delovin, a non-HH. "Deliver" was challenged by the even-money favorite Margarita Man, who came up short for Schnittker. The HH in the field was PTI, who broke at the gate and was far behind the field.

In the second division, two of seven were HH. The winner was Carnegie, a HH. "Carn" was pressured at the beginning by Lutetium, a non-HH, and challenged late by Big Stick Lindy, who finished second as the other HH. "Lindy" was hung around the third turn and came up short for Schnittker again.

In the third division, two of seven were HH. The winner was Shaq Is Back, another Schnittker HH. "Shaq" took the lead early and late he looked like he was coming up short but he held on for the win. The other HH was Puzzlement, who had gapped second over for two calls and finished fourth.

In the fourth division, three of seven were HH. The winner was Stimulus, a HH. "Stim" was shuffling for the lead on the second lap and challenging Stim was Whata Winner. "Winner" was hung for the end of the second lap and had lost in the final steps; he was second. This was the second loss in a row for Winner.

In the fifth division, one of seven was a HH. The winner was Blacktuxwhitesocks, who won the NYSS at Yonkers Raceway. The HH in this field was Wishing Stone. "Wishing" was speeding up down the backstretch of the second lap and toward the stretch; he drifted and broke, which is becoming a habit with the colt.

In the nightcap, one of six was a HH. The winner was Celebrity Blue Chip, the only HH. "Celebrity" challenged for the lead early and held on all the way. He almost didn’t hold on because up the rail came He’smyman, who broke at the 16th pole. Celebrity was also challenged for the lead at the end of the second lap and dismissed the battle.
