$156,000 Dexter Cup Final at Freehold Raceway kicked off the Roarin’ Grand and marked the official start of the race down the Hambletonian Trail – a journey that ends in the winner’s circle Saturday, August 7, at the Meadowlands. Flex the Muscle Powers by stablemate Shaq

With three entered in the Dexter Cup, the Ray Schnittker Stable took the top two places with Flex The Muscle and Shaq Is back. Celebrity Blue Chip was third, Senor Glide fourth and Mama’s Boo Bear fifth. All but Mama’s Boo Bear are Hambletonian eligible.

Flex the Muscle, a son of 1998 Hambletonian winner Muscles Yankee, trotted in 1:56.2, a season’s record. He is owned by Schnittker, Jerry Silva and Arden Homestead Stable and takes aim at the NJ Sires Stakes next. Previous Dexter Cup winners who went on to win the Hambletonian are:
